HI Junior Masterchef Challenges -01

 

Challenge 1 - Gingerbread house

  • Parental help is permitted during kneading and construction stage using white icing.
  • The exhibitor should do all measurements, mixing and decoration.

 

Make the Gingerbread model house using the following recipe if needed. 

125g butter, ½ cup golden syrup, 1/3 cup brown sugar. Melt together and stir. Sift 3 cups of plain flour, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and ground ginger, 2 t of bicarb soda. Add mixtures together and then add 1 lightly beaten egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence. Press together and chill for 10 minutes. Kneed on a floured board and roll to 5mm thick. Cut to desired shape. Bake for 10 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. When cold assemble with white icing and decorate

 

Challenge 2 

Use your imagination and create for the Judges the ultimate school lunch presented in an ice-cream container - no lid.

 

 

Both challenges are only open to kids in Y1 to Y6. 

The Gingerbread House event is judged by the crew from The Pickled Bean.

The Lunchbox Challenged is judged by our fabulous School Health Nurses.
